The Ricoh copier error code 531 / SC531 is a fusing exit motor error code.

If you are receiving this error code it can mean:
   Fusing Motor is locked  by physical overload 
   Fusing Motor drive PCB is bad

To reset this error try the code:
"Clear Mode"+107+"Clear/Stop" hold for 5s.
Turn ON and OFF the Main Switch.

If the problem persists you may need to contact a local service technician to take a look at your copier.

The Ricoh error code 324 / SC324 is a development paddle motor error code.

The machine detects a lock signal error from the development puddle motor for 2 seconds after the drum motor has turned on.

If you receive this error code it can mean:
   Overload on the development puddle motor
   Defective development puddle motor
   Defective harness
   Defective IOB

To reset this error try the code:
"Clear Mode"+107+"Clear/Stop" hold for 5s.
Turn ON and OFF the Main Switch.

If the problem persists you may need to contact a local service technician to take a look at your copier.

The Ricoh copier error code 621 / SC621 is a BICU to finisher communication break error code.

If you are receiving this error code you may want to:
   Check the Serial line connection (unstable)
   Check the External noise on the line . 

To reset this error try the code:
"Clear Mode"+107+"Clear/Stop" hold for 5s.
Turn ON and OFF the Main Switch.

The Ricoh error code 386 / SC386 is a black development unit error code K

After receiving this error first try to turn the main switch off/on. Then go to the process control self-check (SP3-975).

If the result is not 1, fix the problem according to this:

SP3-975-001 (Process Control Self-check Result)

1. clean  ID sensor
2. Check the belt cleaning. Clean or replace the transfer belt.
3. Scratched or damaged transfer belt (replace the transfer belt)
4. ID sensor adj. problem.(replace the ID sensor)
 
Check: Transfer belt , Belt guide plate and ID sensor

1. ID sensor pattern density is too high or low.
2. Residual image on transfer belt
3. Toner dropped from development unit on transfer belt.
4. Scratched or bad transfer belt
5. Check the image development process and correct toner density .
6. Check the transfer belt-cleaning unit.
7. Clean the development unit and correct toner density.
8. Replace the transfer belt.
9. Development unit not correctly installed.

You can try this: Print a full color image by disabling
SC detection (SP5-809-001) and check if the image quality is OK.

The Ricoh copier error code 627 / SC627 is a BICU to LCT communication/break reception error code.

If you are receiving this error you may want to:
   Check the Serial line connection (unstable)
   Check the External noise on the line . 

To reset this error try the code:

Turn ON and OFF the Main Switch.

The Ricoh error code 818 / SC818 can mean you need to change the controller firmware or the controller board is defective.

To reset this error try the code:

The Ricoh error code 142 / SC142 is a white level (glass) adjustment problem during auto gain control.

Some of the causes of this error include:
   Dirty exposure glass or optics section.
   SBU board is no good.
   IPU board is no good.
   Exposure lamp is no good.
   Lamp stabilizer is no good.

To fix this error try:
   Turn on the main switch off and on.
   Check if the exposure lamp is lit during initialization.
   Check the wires between  IPU and SBU.
   Fix the exposure lamp.
   Clean the exposure glass, white plate, mirrors, and lens.
   Fix the SBU board.
   Fix the IPU board

To reset this error try the code:
"Clear Mode"+107+"Clear/Stop" hold for 5s.
Turn ON and OFF the Main Switch.

The Ricoh error code 385 / SC385 is an ID sensor error code.

If you are receiving this error, you may try these following solutions to clear the code:
   Try to turn the main switch off and on
   Clean and check the ID sensor
   Check the drum cleaning
   Get the new the ID sensor

The Ricoh copier error code 285 / SC285 is a line position error code problem.
 
If this is happening:
The MUSIC error occurs 4 times since the last time the main power was turned ON.

It can mean:
   ITB bad
   MUSIC sensors are dirty(clean them)
   MUSIC sensors are bad

To reset this error try the code:

The Ricoh copier error code 502 / SC502 is a tray #2 lift malfunction error code.

This error can mean:
   Too much paper loaded in tray 2 (check the paper)   
   Tray 2 lift motor is bad or is unplugged   
   Paper is trapped between tray 2 and motor   
   Pick-up solenoid is unplugged , blocked by some obstacles. 

To reset this error try the code:

The Rocoh copier error code 490 / SC490 is a main fan error code.

This error can mean:
   Fan motor is overloaded (check the fan motor on the back of the copier)
   Fan connector is disconnected (reconect the fan motor)
